Grundsätzliches zur Datenanlieferung
Bei der Übernahme von digitalen Daten gibt es grundsätzlich keinen einheitlichen Standard. Um verlängerte Reproduktionszeiten zu verhindern und zusätzliche Kosten zu vermeiden soll Ihnen unser Leitfaden Tipps und Hinweise geben, um einen reibungslosen Ablauf gewährleisten zu können.
Die Vollständigkeit und sachliche Richtigkeit Ihrer Daten liegt außerhalb unserer Verantwortung. Ein beigefügter Ausdruck Ihrer Daten dient der Kontrolle und ist zur Überprüfung von Stand, Inhalt und Reihenfolge dienlich.

OFFENE DATEN
Grundsätzlich ist die Anlieferung von PDF-Daten im CMYK-Farbmodus die beste Variante.

PDF-ERZEUGUNG
Beachten Sie bei der PDF-Erzeugung das Sie ein druckfähiges PDF erzeugen und auch alle
Schriften mit einbetten!
TIPP: PDF/X-3 ist allgemein als die Universallösung für die Druckdatenübertragung verwendbar.

ACHTUNG
Bei der Erstellung eines PDF/X-3 wird Ihr Dokument NICHT auf Fehler wie z.B. zu niedrige Bildauflösung, Strichstärken, Transparenzen u.ä. überprüft.

SCHRIFTEN
Um die Daten korrekt weiterverarbeiten zu können, müssen die von Ihnen verwendeten Schriften in unserem System vorhanden sein - d. h. Schriften bei einem PDF Schriften mit einbinden! Beigestellte Daten mit fehlenden Schriften werden von uns nicht automatisch ergänzt da es dabei zu einer Veränderung des Layout‘s führen kann.

RÄNDER
Beachten Sie bitte, dass es zu kleineren Unregelmäßigkeiten bzw. Schneidedifferenzen kommen kann. Vermeiden Sie daher schmale Ränder und die Platzierung von Schrift nahe am Rand.

ABFALLEND (bleed): Wenn ein Druckprodukt "abfallend" sein soll, bedeutet das, dass die Farben und/oder Bilder bis zum Rand des Papiers gedruckt werden sollen, ohne einen weißen Rand zu hinterlassen. Dies wird erreicht, indem das Bild oder die Farbe über den Rand des eigentlichen Druckformats hinaus verlängert wird, typischerweise um einige Millimeter. Nach dem Druck wird das Papier dann auf das endgültige Format geschnitten, wodurch ein randloses Aussehen entsteht.

ANSCHNITT (trim): Der Anschnitt ist der Bereich des Drucklayouts, der über die endgültige Größe des Druckprodukts hinausgeht. Dieser zusätzliche Bereich wird benötigt, um sicherzustellen, dass nach dem Druck und dem Schneiden keine unbedruckten Ränder entstehen. Der Anschnitt ermöglicht es den Druckern, das Papier auf die endgültige Größe zu schneiden, ohne dass weiße Ränder sichtbar sind. Der Anschnitt wird normalerweise um 3-5 mm größer als das endgültige Format des Druckprodukts festgelegt.

FARBEN
Wir drucken im CMYK-Farb-Modus! Das heißt um ein bestmögliches Druckergebniss erzielen zu können sollten deswegen alle Farben und auch Bilder im CMYK-Modus angelegt sein. Eingriffe auf den Farbmodus (umwandeln der Farben) unsererseits ist möglich. Es kann jedoch keine Gewähr für die farbliche Richtigkeit übernommen werden und der Eingriff ist auch mit Kosten verbunden.

AUFLÖSUNG
Die empfohlene Mindestauflösung beträgt 300 dpi bei CMYK und Graustufenscans. Strichscans sollten mindestens eine Auflösung von 600 dpi haben um unerwünschte, unschöne Treppeneffekte zu vermeiden.

Basic Information on Data Submission

There is generally no uniform standard when it comes to accepting digital data. To prevent extended production times and avoid additional costs, our guide is intended to give you tips and advice to help ensure a smooth process. The completeness and factual accuracy of your data is outside our responsibility. An enclosed printout of your data serves as a control copy and is useful for checking status, content, and sequence.

OPEN FILES
As a general rule, submitting PDF data in CMYK color mode is the best option.

PDF CREATION
When creating your PDF, make sure to generate a print-ready PDF and embed all fonts! TIP: PDF/X-3 can generally be used as the universal solution for print data transfer.

NOTE
When creating a PDF/X-3, your document is NOT checked for errors such as insufficient image resolution, line weights, transparencies, etc.

FONTS
In order for your data to be processed correctly, the fonts you use must be present in our system — meaning fonts must be embedded when creating a PDF! If submitted data has missing fonts, we will not automatically substitute them, as this could alter the layout.

MARGINS
Please note that minor irregularities or trimming discrepancies may occur. Therefore, avoid narrow margins and placing text close to the edge.

BLEED
If a print product is to have "bleed," this means that the colors and/or images are printed all the way to the edge of the paper, leaving no white border. This is achieved by extending the image or color beyond the edge of the actual print format, typically by a few millimeters. After printing, the paper is then cut to the final size, creating a borderless appearance.

TRIM
The trim is the area of the print layout that extends beyond the final size of the print product. This additional area is needed to ensure that no unprinted margins appear after printing and cutting. The trim allows printers to cut the paper to its final size without any visible white edges. The trim is usually set 3–5 mm larger than the final format of the print product.

COLORS
We print in CMYK color mode! This means that, in order to achieve the best possible print result, all colors and images should be created in CMYK mode. We are able to make adjustments to the color mode (converting colors) on our end. However, we cannot guarantee color accuracy, and such adjustments are also subject to additional costs.

RESOLUTION
The recommended minimum resolution is 300 dpi for CMYK and grayscale scans. Line art scans should have a resolution of at least 600 dpi to avoid unwanted, unsightly jagged edges (aliasing).

Manuelle Bearbeitung: Wir haben die technischen Möglichkeiten, fehlenden Anschnitt/Überfüller zu ergänzen. Dies bedeutet aber auch, dass es zu farblichen Änderungen im Randbereich, bzw. in der Produktion zu weißen Blitzern an den Rändern kommen kann. Dies kann man technisch nicht vermeiden, fällt aber meist nur dem geübten Auge auf. Bitte dies immer bedenken, wenn wir den Anschnitt/Überfüller bearbeiten müssen. Um dies zu vermeiden müssen Sie den Anschnitt (min. 3mm) bereits in Ihrem Programm zur Erstellung der Druckdaten ergänzen. Bei jeder spätere Bearbeitung und Ergänzung des Anschnittes kann es zu den beschriebenen Fehlern kommen.

Non-Bleed: This always means there will be an approx. 3mm white area at the edge that cannot be printed on. Since this margin can vary in size on each side (top/bottom/left/right), all elements (text/images, etc.) should be kept as far from the edge as possible — at least 5–7mm.

This additional area is needed to ensure that no unprinted margins appear after printing and cutting. The trim allows printers to cut the paper to its final size without any visible white edges. Manual Processing: We have the technical means to add missing bleed/overfill if it is missing. However, this can also lead to color changes in the edge area, or to white flashes appearing at the edges during production. This cannot be avoided technically, but is usually only noticeable to a trained eye. Please always keep this in mind if we need to add the bleed/overfill ourselves. To avoid this, you should add the bleed (min. 3mm) yourself in the program you use to create your print data. Any subsequent editing or addition of the bleed may result in the errors described above.

Abholung: Alle Aufträge sind immer in der Filiale Pestalozzistraße 1 abzuholen und vor Ort zu Bezahlen. Entweder in Bar/Bankomat oder Kreditkarte.

Zustellung: Die Ausnahme sind unsere Stammkunden/Lieferscheinkunden. Hier können wir auch eine Lieferung mittels Fahrradboten (innerhalb vom Stadtgebiet Graz) anbieten oder per DPD als Paketversand.

Diese beiden Optionen gelten nicht für Bestellungen über unseren Webshop sondern ausschließlich für Aufträge direkt an unsere Filiale in der Pestalozzistraße 1, 8010 Graz, persönlich vor Ort oder per EMail an city@printundplot.at.

Pickup: All orders must always be picked up at our Pestalozzistraße 1 branch and paid for on site. Payment can be made in cash, by debit card (Bankomat), or by credit card.

Delivery: The exception applies to our regular customers/invoice customers (Lieferscheinkunden). For these customers, we can also offer delivery by bicycle courier (within the city area of Graz) or by DPD parcel shipping.

These two delivery options do not apply to orders placed through our webshop — they are available exclusively for orders submitted directly to our branch at Pestalozzistraße 1, 8010 Graz, either in person or by email to city@printundplot.at.

1. PDF Version: Choose the PDF version according to the requirements of your target audience. For maximum compatibility, it's often best to select an older version such as PDF 1.4 or PDF 1.5. If special features are needed, a newer version such as X3 or X4 may be required.
2. Color Mode: Choose the color mode based on the printing process and color profiles — CMYK for print, and RGB for web or on-screen display.
3. Resolution: For print purposes, a high resolution is required, usually 300–600 DPI (dots per inch) for images and graphics. For on-screen display, a lower resolution may be sufficient, typically 150 DPI.
4. Color Profile: Use the correct color profile for your print data, based on the printing process and the requirements of the print service provider (usually FOGRA 39 or the newer FOGRA 51 profile).
5. Fonts: Check that all fonts used are embedded in the PDF, to ensure that the text formatting displays correctly even if the user doesn't have the font installed.
6. Compression: Use appropriate compression settings for images and graphics to optimize the PDF's file size without compromising image quality too much.
7. Bleed: If the PDF is intended for print, add bleed to ensure that print elements extend all the way to the edge of the paper.
8. Overprint Settings: Configure overprint settings according to the printing requirements, especially if the PDF is intended for offset printing.

The exact settings may vary depending on the specific requirements of your project and the print service provider's requirements. It's therefore advisable to check the exact specifications before exporting the PDF, and to consult with us if needed.

Vielen Kunden ist nicht bewusst, dass ein Screenshot – egal ob vom Handy, Computer oder aus einem Programm – für den professionellen Druck leider nicht geeignet ist. Der Grund ist einfach: Screenshots haben eine sehr geringe Bildauflösung (meist nur 72–96 dpi), die für die Bildschirmdarstellung ausreicht, beim Druck jedoch zu verschwommenen, pixeligen und unscharfen Ergebnissen führt. Professioneller Druck benötigt mindestens 300 dpi.

Was wir empfehlen:

✅ Druckfertiges PDF – Das ist die beste und einfachste Lösung. Ein PDF behält Schriften, Farben und Qualität exakt bei und lässt sich direkt und verlustfrei drucken.

Many customers are not aware that a screenshot — whether taken from a phone, computer, or a program — is unfortunately not suitable for professional printing. The reason is simple: screenshots have a very low image resolution (usually only 72–96 dpi), which is sufficient for on-screen display but results in blurry, pixelated, and unsharp results when printed. Professional printing requires at least 300 dpi.

What we recommend:
✅ Print-ready PDF – This is the best and simplest solution. A PDF preserves fonts, colors, and quality exactly and can be printed directly and without any loss of quality.

With a PDF, you're always on the safe side. It already corresponds exactly to the desired printout.

With Word documents, differing MS Word settings can lead to unwanted page breaks or formatting errors.

No, since our large-format prints are printed from a paper roll, not on individual sheets.

The largest format we can print double-sided is 310 x 630 mm.

Graphics from the internet are not always suitable for printing.

For technical reasons, internet graphics are often published at a reduced resolution (e.g., 72 dpi). Printing, however, uses a significantly higher resolution. For this reason, these graphics don't look as good when printed as they do on a monitor.

The image size should always be at its original size, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi and at most 600 dpi.

Programme wie PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Excel etc. sollten Sie eher meiden, wenn es um die Erstellung professioneller Publikationen geht. Diese Programme machen oft Fehler im Farb- und Schrifthandling. Bevorzugen Sie wirkliche Layout-Programme wie Adobe InDesign, Quark Xpress, Corel Draw, Freehand usw.

Wichtig: Die richtige Blattgröße!
Das ist der häufigste und folgenreichste Fehler: Wir können aus einem falschen Format niemals das gewünschte Endformat machen. Ein Zollformat (z.B. Letter 8,5"×11") lässt sich nicht in ein DIN A4 (210×297mm) umwandeln – ebenso wenig wie aus Visitenkarten in 70×50mm plötzlich 85×55mm werden können. Bitte definieren Sie die Blattgröße in Ihrem Programm von Anfang an korrekt – am besten inklusive Beschnitt (3mm rundum).

KI-Programme (z.B. Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, Midjourney, DALL·E usw.)
KI-gestützte Gestaltungsprogramme werden immer beliebter – grundsätzlich können daraus auch druckfertige Daten entstehen. Achten Sie dabei unbedingt auf folgende Punkte:

• Exportieren Sie immer als PDF oder hochauflösendes TIFF/PNG (mind. 150 ppi im Endformat, besser 300 ppi).
• Stellen Sie die Dokumentgröße vor der Erstellung exakt auf das gewünschte Druckformat ein – KI-Tools arbeiten oft mit Pixelmaßen, nicht mit mm oder cm.
• Viele KI-Programme liefern Dateien in RGB-Farbraum – für den Druck ist CMYK bevorzugt. Sprechen Sie uns im Zweifelsfall an.

Sollten Sie um die erstgenannten Programme nicht herumkommen, generieren Sie mittels Acrobat Distiller ein druckfertiges PDF – so kann fast nichts mehr schiefgehen. Vor allem deshalb, da Sie das PDF vorab ansehen können, bevor Sie es übermitteln, am besten per E-Mail.

Wenn Sie Daten per E-Mail als Anfrage schicken, bitte immer genau definieren:

• Druck in Farbe oder Schwarzweiß
• Welche Blattgröße (bitte in mm, kein Zollformat!)
• Welches Papier
• Ein- oder doppelseitig
• Auflage / Stückzahl
• Abfallend oder nicht abfallend

Wenn möglich auch eine Telefonnummer für Rückfragen angeben.

You should generally avoid programs like PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Excel, etc. when it comes to creating professional publications. These programs often make mistakes in color and font handling. We recommend using proper layout programs such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, CorelDRAW, Freehand, etc.

Important: The correct sheet size! This is the most common and most consequential mistake: we can never turn an incorrect format into the desired final format. An inch-based format (e.g., Letter 8.5"×11") cannot be converted into DIN A4 (210×297mm) — just as business cards in 70×50mm cannot suddenly become 85×55mm. Please define the sheet size correctly in your program right from the start — ideally including bleed (3mm all around).

AI Programs (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, Midjourney, DALL·E, etc.)
AI-assisted design programs are becoming increasingly popular — in principle, they can also produce print-ready data. Be sure to pay attention to the following points:

• Always export as PDF or high-resolution TIFF/PNG (at least 150 ppi at final size, ideally 300 ppi).
• Set the document size to the exact desired print format before creating your design — AI tools often work in pixel dimensions rather than mm or cm.
• Many AI programs deliver files in RGB color space — CMYK is preferred for printing. If in doubt, please get in touch with us.

If you can't avoid using the programs mentioned first, generate a print-ready PDF using Acrobat Distiller — this way, almost nothing can go wrong. This is especially useful because you can preview the PDF before submitting it, ideally by email.

If you send us data by email as a request, please always specify the following clearly:

• Print in color or black and white
• Which sheet size (please in mm, not inches!)
• Which paper
• Single- or double-sided
• Print run / quantity
• Bleed or no bleed

If possible, please also provide a phone number in case we have any follow-up questions.

Bildschirmfarben (RGB) entsprechen nicht den Druckfarben. Verwenden Sie bitte immer CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow und Schwarz) Vierfarbeinstellung. Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir keine Schmuckfarben (Pantone, HKS, etc.) unterstützen. Druckdaten, die Schmuckfarben enthalten, werden (sofern möglich) automatisch in CMYK umgewandelt, weshalb wir keine Verantwortung für die tatsächlich resultierenden Farben des Drucks übernehmen!
Um ein schönes gleichmäßiges Schwarz zu erhalten, verwenden Sie bitte im Digitaldruck ein reines 1c Schwarz (C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 100%).

Screen colors (RGB) do not correspond to print colors. Please always use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) four-color settings. Please note that we do not support spot colors (Pantone, HKS, etc.). Print data containing spot colors will (where possible) be automatically converted to CMYK, which is why we cannot take responsibility for the actual resulting print colors! To achieve a nice, even black, please use a pure 1c black (C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 100%) for digital printing.

- Orajet 3164M ist eine weiß matte, selbstklebende kalandrierte Weich-PVC-Folie (100 µm) von ORAFOL mit permanentem, transparentem Polyacrylat-Klebstoff. Entwickelt für kurz- und mittelfristige Werbeanwendungen im Innen- und Außenbereich, haftet sie zuverlässig auf Glas und den meisten glatten Untergründen. Durch den permanenten Kleber ist ein leichtes Repositionieren beim ersten Anbringen möglich, bevor die Folie fest angedrückt wird – anschließend entwickelt der Kleber seine volle dauerhafte Haftung. Geeignet für Werbeschilder, Schaufensterbeklebung, Aufkleber und Etiketten. Klebekraft ca. 64 N/100mm.

- Orajet 3162M ist eine weiß matte, selbstklebende kalandrierte Weich-PVC-Folie (100 µm) von ORAFOL mit ablösbarem, transparentem Polyacrylat-Klebstoff. Der ablösbar haftende Kleber ermöglicht eine nahezu rückstandsfreie Entfernung bis zu 6 Wochen nach dem Verkleben – danach entwickelt die Folie ihre volle Klebkraft. Ideal für temporäre Werbung, Schaufensterbeklebung, Aufkleber und Etiketten im Innen- und Außenbereich. Klebekraft ca. 24 N/100mm.

- Avery Dennison MPI 3024 HOP Easy Apply (High Opacity) ist eine weiß matte, selbstklebende kalandrierte Vinylfolie mit hoher Deckkraft für den kurzzeitigen Einsatz. Ausgestattet mit dem ablösbaren Easy Apply Klebstoff ist diese Folie mit Luftkanaltechnologie ideal für einfach und blasenfrei zu verklebende Promotions,welche sich schnell, einfach und deckend anbringen lassen und für einen werbewirksamen Auftritt sorgen. Die Produkteigenschaften der Folie MPI 3024 HOP Easy Apply, wie hohe Deckkraft (über 99 %), transparenter Klebstoff sowie gute Bedruckbarkeit mit attraktivem Weißgrad machen sie zu einer optimalen Lösung für eine breite Anzahl an Anwendungen für den kurzzeitigen Einsatz in der Werbung. - myMEDIA 1339 QuickDot WM, weiß matt, mit Punktkleber für Schaufenster.
Ideal für Drucke, welche in Filialnetzen von VerkäuferInnen selbst blasen- und faltenfrei verklebt werden müssen. Besonders geeignet für den Einsatz unter schwierigen Bedingungen und/oder für Anfänger bzw. Anwendungen unter Zeitdruck. Dieses Material ist von fast allen Untergründen wieder einfach zu entfernen. Das Produkt entpricht B1 nach DIN 4102-1. Klebekraft ca. 1,5N / 25mm

Zu Beachten bei monomeren Klebefolien ist das diese nach einiger Zeit unter UV-Einstrahlung zu schrumpfen beginnen.

• Orajet 3164M is a white matte, self-adhesive calendered soft PVC film (100 µm) from ORAFOL with a permanent, transparent polyacrylate adhesive. Designed for short- to medium-term advertising applications indoors and outdoors, it adheres reliably to glass and most smooth surfaces. Thanks to the permanent adhesive, slight repositioning is possible during initial application before the film is firmly pressed down — after that, the adhesive develops its full permanent bond. Suitable for advertising signs, shop window graphics, stickers, and labels. Adhesive strength approx. 64 N/100mm.

• Avery Dennison MPI 3024 HOP Easy Apply (High Opacity) is a white matte, self-adhesive calendered vinyl film with high opacity for short-term use. Featuring the removable Easy Apply adhesive, this film with air-channel technology is ideal for promotions that need to be applied easily and bubble-free, allowing for quick, simple, and opaque application that ensures an eye-catching presentation. The product properties of the MPI 3024 HOP Easy Apply film — such as high opacity (over 99%), transparent adhesive, and good printability with an attractive white tone — make it an optimal solution for a wide range of short-term advertising applications. Adhesive strength approx. 50 N/100mm.
• myMEDIA 1339 QuickDot WM, white matte, with dot adhesive for shop windows. Ideal for prints that need to be applied bubble- and wrinkle-free by sales staff themselves across branch networks. Particularly suitable for use under difficult conditions and/or for beginners or applications under time pressure. This material can be easily removed again from almost all surfaces. The product complies with B1 per DIN 4102-1. Adhesive strength approx. 1.5 N/25mm.

Please note that with monomeric adhesive films, these will begin to shrink over time under UV exposure.

Lade bitte deine Dateien während des Bestellprozess über den Button "Upload" hoch oder nutze einen externen Dienst wie "WeTransfer" zum übermitteln der Daten.
Du kannst jederzeit deine Bestellung abschließen ohne Daten hochzuladen. Diese kannst du auch später nachliefern.

Nach Abschluß deiner Bestellung erhälst du eine Bestätigung und deine Bestellung wird an die Filiale Pestalozzistraße 1, 8010 Graz, weitergeleitet.
Nach Überprüfung deiner Daten auf Druckfähigkeit erhälst du eine Bestätigungsmail.
Nach Abschluß des Druckauftrages erhälst du wiederum eine Email das dein Auftrag erledigt ist und zur Abholung bereit steht bzw. in den Versand geht.

Preise im Webshop gelten ausschließlich für Bestellungen über dem Webshop.

Please upload your files during the ordering process using the "Upload" button, or use an external service such as "WeTransfer" to send us the data. You can complete your order at any time without uploading files — you can also submit them later.

After completing your order, you will receive a confirmation, and your order will be forwarded to our branch at Pestalozzistraße 1, 8010 Graz. After your data has been checked for print readiness, you will receive a confirmation email. Once the print job is completed, you will receive another email letting you know that your order is finished and ready for pickup, or that it is being shipped.

Prices in the webshop apply exclusively to orders placed through the webshop.
